The count represents the fineness of the yarn, not its durability. The higher the count, the finer the yarn, and the softer and smoother the fabric feels. But there is a counterintuitive fact: in order to achieve sufficient strength, high count yarns usually require the use of strand technology (twisting two or more yarns together), while the strength of extremely high count single yarns (such as 100 count single yarns) is relatively weak. For hotel linens, "washability" is more about cost than "softness".

新国标对断裂强力有明确分级。 GB/T 22800-2023规定，床单被套优等品断裂强力≥350N，一等品≥300N，合格品≥250N。断裂强力直接决定布草能承受多少次工业洗涤而不破损。酒店布草在工业洗衣机中受到的机械力远大于家用洗衣机，氧漂剂和高温也会加速织物强力下降。

The new national standard has clear grading for fracture strength. GB/T 22800-2023 stipulates that the breaking strength of high-quality bed sheets and duvet covers should be ≥ 350N, first-class products should be ≥ 300N, and qualified products should be ≥ 250N. The breaking strength directly determines how many industrial washes the linen can withstand without damage. Hotel linens are subjected to much greater mechanical force in industrial washing machines than in household washing machines, and oxygen bleaching agents and high temperatures can also accelerate the decrease in fabric strength.

60支是“品质和价格的非常佳平衡点”。 消费警示明确指出：60支双股面料能满足绝大多数人对舒适和耐用的需求，是性价比非常高的选择。80支确实更细腻，但价格显著上升，且高支面料在反复工业洗涤中，强力衰减的速度未必比60支慢。多花的钱买的是“客人入住第一晚的触感”，不是“三年后还能用的寿命”。

60 pieces is the best balance point between quality and price. The consumer warning clearly states that 60 strands of double stranded fabric can meet the majority of people's needs for comfort and durability, and is the most cost-effective choice. 80 pieces are indeed more delicate, but the price has significantly increased, and high count fabrics may not necessarily lose strength slower than 60 pieces in repeated industrial washing. The extra money is for the 'first night's touch' of the guest's stay, not for the 'lifespan that can still be used after three years'.

含棉量比支数更值得关注。 出色评定标准要求床单被套含棉量为100%。纯棉的吸湿透气性是混纺无法替代的，但在工业洗涤中的缩水率也更高。新国标要求水洗缩水率≤5%，采购时应确认供应商提供的缩水率检测数据，而非仅看支数标签。

The cotton content is more worthy of attention than the count. The star rating standard requires that the cotton content of bed sheets and duvet covers be 100%. The moisture absorption and breathability of pure cotton cannot be replaced by blends, but its shrinkage rate is also higher in industrial washing. The new national standard requires a water washing shrinkage rate of ≤ 5%. When purchasing, the shrinkage rate testing data provided by the supplier should be confirmed, rather than just looking at the count label.

选酒店布草，支数决定“客人觉得好不好”，断裂强力决定“你能用多久”。两者都要看，但别让“80支”的光环掩盖了对耐用性的关注。

Choosing hotel linens, the quantity determines whether the guests think it's good or not, and the breaking strength determines how long you can use it. Both should be considered, but don't let the halo of "80" overshadow the focus on durability.
