When purchasing tablecloths for hotels, many people's first reaction is "choose which one looks good". But the appearance of the tablecloth is only temporary, whether it is durable, whether it can be washed clean, and whether it can be flipped over quickly are the problems we face every day. Choosing the wrong material, the procurement cost seems low, and using it is all an implicit expense.

PVC tablecloth and polyester tablecloth are completely different in their applicable scenarios.

The surface of the PVC tablecloth is coated with a layer of polyvinyl chloride, which is waterproof and oil resistant. It can be wiped clean with soup and does not require frequent washing. Suitable for scenarios such as hot pot restaurants, self-service restaurants, and fast food areas with heavy oil pollution and fast turnover. The disadvantage is that the texture is too hard and the drape is poor, making it unsuitable for formal banquets. Moreover, PVC tablecloths are sensitive to high temperatures, and placing them directly on a hot pot can easily leave burn marks.

Polyester tablecloth is the mainstream choice for hotel banquet halls, Chinese restaurants, and Western restaurants. Soft to the touch, good drape, multiple color and pattern choices, can match different decoration styles. The disadvantage is that it requires frequent washing, and every time it is used up, it needs to be sent for washing and ironing. The cost of washing and labor must be included.

Washing loss is the biggest hidden cost of tablecloths.

Polyester tablecloths may shrink, fade, and develop pilling after repeated washing. A tablecloth with a shrinkage rate that does not meet the standard will become smaller than the desktop after a few washes, and the edges and corners will be exposed when laid on it. Dark tablecloths with poor color fastness will turn white and fade after washing, and may also contaminate other fabrics. When purchasing, it is necessary to clarify the shrinkage rate and color fastness level to washing, and ask the supplier to provide a testing report. National standards have clear grading for these two indicators, and reports are more effective than verbal promises.

Mouth cloth and skirt, matching procurement is more worry free.

The weight of mouth cloth is usually between 180-250g/㎡. If the weight is too low, it will feel thin and have poor water absorption. If the weight is too high, it will be difficult to fold and shape. The mouth cloth of the banquet hall needs to be repeatedly folded and shaped, and the stiffness of the fabric is more important than its softness. The function of the skirt is to cover the space under the table and enhance the overall appearance. The material is usually matched with the tablecloth. Matching the tablecloth, mouth cloth, skirt, and chair cover in one go, with uniform color and pattern, is more effective than purchasing separately.

The elastic band of the chair cover is the key to details.

The quality of the elastic band of the chair cover directly affects the user experience. Poor quality elastic bands lose their elasticity after a few washes, and the chair covers become "hanging" on the chair, causing guests to shift as soon as they sit. When making a purchase, you can stretch the elastic band to see if it bounces back quickly. Elastic chair covers (including spandex) fit the back of the chair better than ordinary polyester chair covers, making them suitable for banquet halls and conference rooms.

The logic of purchasing hotel linens is very clear: PVC tablecloths are selected for high-frequency flipping and scenes with heavy oil stains; Choosing polyester tablecloth for formal banquets and pursuing texture; Regardless of which one is chosen, the shrinkage rate and color fastness indicators must be stuck; Purchase matching mouth cloth, table skirt, and chair cover, with uniform color for better effect. Tablecloth is the "face" of a hotel, but its "inside" is in the laundry room - it can be washed, does not shrink, and does not fade, which is why it is called a tablecloth.
